Good morning Eric! This is Ji Zhou - MSFT and I will be working on this
issue with you. To better support this issue, would you mind clarifying
what you mean about the "menu name". The following is my current
assumptions, if I have understood your demand incorrectly, please feel
free
to let me know and I will try my best to provide future help.
1.We are creating a Word 2003 Add-in and call CommandBars.Add() to add a
menu. In this case, the menu is an instance of the CommandBar type. We can
change its name by setting the Name property, please visit this document
http://msdn.microsoft.com/es-es/library/microsoft.office.core.commandbar.nam
e(VS.80).aspx for more detailed information.
2.We are creating a Word 2007 Add-in, the new UI ribbon is presented in
front of the users. In this case, we can use the ribbon's getLabel
callback
function to change ribbon control's label(name). You can get a sample code
in another newsgroup thread,

Please let me know if this helps! And if you have any future questions or
concerns, please feel free to contact me.
Have a great day!
Best regards,

Note: The MSDN Managed Newsgroup support offering is for non-urgent issues
where an initial response from the community or a Microsoft Support
Engineer within 1 business day is acceptable. Please note that each follow
up response may take approximately 2 business days as the support
professional working with you may need further investigation to reach the
most efficient resolution. The offering is not appropriate for situations
that require urgent, real-time or phone-based interactions or complex
project analysis and dump analysis issues. Issues of this nature are best
handled working with a dedicated Microsoft Support Engineer by contacting
Microsoft Customer Support Services (CSS) at
