Tools to measure connection speed with Project Server

We have a Microsoft Project Server 2003 SP1 on a Win 2003 Std
Edition with PIV 2GB. Connecting from the Internet using a VPN connection
and MSP Pro 2003 SP1 is very slow when opening a project. Time to open a
project
can take 30-45 seconds.

I am trying to find out any tools, methods to measure/test speed
performance,
to test both regular TCP/IP packets, Project Server connections, anything
that
can help me figure out where the problem is.

Any information you can give me on internet speed connection, project server
connection, diagnostic tools, methods, i'd greatly appreciate it.

Serge:

45 seconds is lightning speed on an Internet connection. Project Pro was not
made to work this way, you should use Terminal services instead.
