I have an issue on my main computer where tooltips don't work in Office 2007.
Office was a clean install, although I did have 2003 prior. I fully
uninstalled 2003 before installing 2007, and installation went fine. All
aspects of office work fine, except tooltips.
In word, or outlook, when I hover over a hyperlink, the tooltip just flashes
for about a millisecond, and goes away. No matter how much I mouse over, I
just get the flash of the tooltip for a split second. I tried turning them
off and back on in the Word options, I also tried a repair via add/remove
programs. Office diagnostics report no issues.
I also tried deleting the data subkey for word in the registry, and let it
get recreated, but the same thing happens.
I have tried outlook and word in safe mode (office safe mode, not windows
safe mode) and the same behavior exists, so it does not look to be an addin
issue.
I have searched a lot on this issue and don't seem to find anything related.
I suppose a removal/reinstall is an option, but only as a last resort, as it
is a length process.
Any thoughts?
