TOP 10 LIST

Nick

I normally find all the answers I ever need in the Microsoft Knowledge
areas, but just can't get the results I want for this question...

Just how do I use the TOP 10 LIST included content?

I run my own server, Windows 2003 Enterprise OS and of course FP Extensions.

Been to IIS and turned on ENABLE LOGGING and set it to the correct logging
format per instructions from one white paper I did find... also left the
logging to a monthly setting since it is the default of the OS..

So, now what? I inserted all the tables on one page, i.e. users, callers,
pages viewed etc etc... named the page top10.htm and saved it...

When and how do I see any results(data) in the tables? What fires this page
off? How does it even know where the log file is?

Hello Nick!

It sounds like you are very close! Assuming your are running FPSE 2002 or
greater or STSv1 or greater, all you should have to do now is enable Usage
Analysis in the FPSE admin or STS admin and run it manually, then schedule
it to run so your data will stay current. UA will parse the iis logs and
create a metafile that the "Top 10 List" component will use to retrieve and
display your traffic.

Here is some more info that might be of help:
