Top rows blue, won't print

Version: v.X
Operating System: Mac OS X 10.4 (Tiger)

The top row is blue, the same shade as the column and row indicators. Won't print the information in the rows. When I insert another row below the top row it turns blue and won't print also. All other rows below are normal shading and print. I tried adjusting the fill color, that didn't work.

Couple of questions:

By default in XL v.X, the column and row headers are grey, not blue
(i.e., dark grey when selected, light grey when not). How did you get
them to change color?

Or are you talking about the grid lines (which color you can set in
Preferences/General)?

Depending on your System Preference Setting, the highlight color for
selected cells may be blue - are the cells blue when not selected?

Is the print area set (File/Print Area) to include the first row?

Can you edit the first row? Is conditional formatting set on it?

Hi J.E.,

The column and row indicators are a lighter shade of blue grey. So I didn't change their color.

The grid lines are normal.

The top rows remain blue at all times, selected or not.

When I did the 'set print area', which included the top 2 rows which are blue, A1 and A2 cells turned bright yellow. The rest of the top 2 rows dropped the blue color. That's progress. I checked to see if they would print, and yes the top rows showed up on print preview, only cells A1 and A2 are bright yellow. I would rather they were the same color as the rest of the worksheet.

I can edit the top rows. No conditional formatting.

Hello J.E.,

Your expertise has solved my problem. Thank you! It was the set print area that was entered wrong. Then I had changed the background color. All looks good now.
