Make sure that you have the correct keyboard language (input language)
selected in Windows Control Panel.

Those are the main differences between an English US and an English UK
keyboard layout (the " is on the 2 key in the UK layout). Check in the
Control Panel, Region and Language settings that you have the correct one
selected.
