I'm unable to install Office 2000 Professional on my
Toshiba laptop running Windows XP Home Edition.
After 3 minutes into the Office install, I get a Windows
File Protection message to insert Windows XP Professional
CD. Toshiba does not ship XP CD with laptops. Toshiba's
Recovery and Applications CD is rejected by install
program. I get error 1933 when I cancel the install.
MS Knowledge Base 327851 contains exact error message I
get and says to run 'sfc /scannow'. That gives me
another WFP message that files must be copied to the DLL
Cache and to insert the Windows XP Pro CD.
I talked to Toshiba support. First, they told me they
only support applications they install and I need to talk
to Microsoft. Then they told me to look at KB 811260 and
change the registry. But 811260 also says I need the XP
CD so I don't see why this would work.
I think I need to identify and download some DLL files.
I searched MS Office DLL downloads but could not find
anything relative to the install process.
Anyone have any ideas on how to proceed? Thanks in
advance for your help.
