Toshiba OneNote or MS Works?

Telesphore

A friend of mine just bought a Toshiba Satellite A70.
He is more at ease with MS Works.
Is it possible to install MS Works instead of using OneNote.
Myself, a pro (!) of MS Word, I don't understand how OneNote works!
Where can we get the MS Works program? On the Toshiba CD?

Any help will be appreciated.

Thank you.

The licensing most likely does not allow you to copy software like that.
It's not clear what you're asking - do you want to install another copy
of MS Works on the Satellite? Or check to see if somehow MS Works is on
the OEM recovery CD? Pretty much all of the applications that might be
available under a particular bundle of OEM software will already be
installed. If Works is not installed it probably isn't to be found on
the recovery CD.

In any event, the comparison of OneNote to Word or Works is not a valid
one, as the applications are intended to fill two different needs.
OneNote is not a word processing application and is not intended to
produce finished/polished documents.

Well I dont know if this helps but I dont think you can get it from the TOSHIBA cd...I have the Toshiba PROTEGE M205 and I looked at the cd...it looks like an image...like Norton Ghost uses....maybe someone can help further?

Also, I dont think you can compare WORKS with ONENOTE.....two different programs as it relates to their purpose...at least I think thats right

OneNote is not a word processor. Works is a word processor - it is not
anything like OneNote.

Yes, you can install works, provided you own a valid license that isn't used
on another machine.

Thank you all.

The friend had the installation disk at his place and the license too for
Toshiba.
I install it in 5 minutes.
He is happier with it since he had the license on his HP Destop too.

Thanks.
