total duration

Sdin

Group A 140.43 days
Task A 2 days
Task B 1 day
Task C 1 day
Task D 113 days
Task E 1 day
Task F 1 day

This is what is shown on my current project timeline. Where does the .43
come from in the Total Group A Duration? How do I fix it? This happens all
over my project with .38's and .13's!

Your tasks probably have an overlap or a gap somewhere or they straddle a
couple of shifts. Summary task durations aren't simply the sum of the
subtasks but rather are calculated as the number of working time minutes in
the Project Calendar between when the earliest starting subtask begins until
the latest finishing subtask ends. If you change your view date options so
you can see both date and time in the start and finish fields it'll probably
make more sense. If your regular workday is 8 to 5, you'll probably see the
earliest starting task begins on some date at 8am while the latest finishing
task ends about 12 noon, 140 working days later.
