Hello,

I am using MSP 2003. I have created Master project I want to know how to get
the total number of tasks(Note: projects are inserted into the Master
project).

Thanks

You could create a custom number field where the formula is =1. Then for
summary set it to rollup sum.

This works on an individual schedule if you show the project level summary
in tools>options. You will see a sum of all tasks excluding summaries.

I have also done a small test of this with a master and it seems to work.
The key is that this custom number field must exist in all project plans
that you are putting into the master including the master. You can copy it
over to all the plans using the organizer if it is a local custom field you
are using. If you are using an enterprise global field then it will be
available to all the plans by default.
