Totalling based on criteria

We use an excel spreadsheet for creating a bill of
materials for custom made steel products. Each row
contains the type of material(i.e #12 gauge or 2" square
x #11 gauge), the length, width, weight per foot as well
as a descritpion of the part.

Description Width LG. Material QTY.Weight
TUBE 0 100.41 2"x#11 ga Sq. Tubing 3 73.80


What I would like to do is be able to summarize the
information on this form, creating a list of showing the
total footage of tube and structural steel items and
total poundage of sheet items, listed by material type.
What type of formula would I need? Thanks.
