totally weird

This problem doesn't fit into any category that I know
of. and Believe it or not, I am not a computer dummy. I
can't figure this out....all of this happens on opening
documents only. Document opens normally on other
machines. Document opens and is readable..however the
bottom of the document reads like this EXAMPLE:

Normal
Normal
Heading 1
Heading 1
Default Paragraph Font
more of formatting definitions and then..
{CEB016A3-CDAA-11D7-B9D8-0050041CC65C}
Root Entry
1 Table
1 Table
WordDocument
WordDocument
etc..etc...

Can anyone help with this matter???? If so, please email
me with suggestions.... PS I have tried uninstalling and
reinstalling...made no difference.

File -> Open -> Files of Type is set to Recover Text from Any File. Switch
it to Word Documents or All Files.

You shouldn't feel stupid. When I first encountered this problem it
took a little time to figure it out.

Not to mention the time I purchased a legal document (*.rtf) over the
Internet only to find the formatting and layout was horrible. I spend
several hours correcting it, and grumbling about the good money I
spent, only to reach the bottom and see signs of recover text from any
format. I should have known better - especially since I immediately
recalled using the format the day before. Luckily I did know better
than to modify the original. Opened it up with the correct converter
and it was perfect. lol

Happens to the best of us. <g>
