Touchpad Problems

I'm running the 60 day trial on OneNote, and my only complaint is that
my touchpaid occassionaly (read, frequently) fails on me, and I am
forced to quit and restart the program. This always fixes the problem,
but only for a little while. I have no other problems with the
touchpad outside of OneNote. I did try updating the drivers, however,
that only made it so that my touchpad would not function in Firefox.

Any ideas?

Any takers?

What kind of "touchpad" is it? Are there any useful messages in your
Event Viewer? What operating system are you using?

I've never heard of this problem before, but maybe we can figure it out.

It is a Synaptics PS/2 Port Touchpad, and I am running Windows XP
(SP2). I am also running OneNote (SP1).

I do not know how to make sense of the Event Viewer.

Thanks much.

Hmmm. Offhand I don't really have any other ideas if you've already
updated all of the drivers.

In the Event Viewer look for read-flagged items that are errors. You can
then search the Microsoft Support Knowledgebase
(http://support.microsoft.com) for that error and possible solutions.

I believe you're probably better off posting to some other newsgroup or
contacting the support section for your brand computer, Natalie. If you
have a Touchpad system, take a look in Control Panel, probably under Mouse
to see perhaps if the Touchpad controls have been turned off. This
newsgroup supports the OneNote program only.
