Trace empty cell

I'm using a SUMIF formula that is correct and yet Excel says that there is an error as the formula refers to an empty cell. The range is on a different sheet within the same workbook, and there are no empty cells within the range. It seems as though it is looking at the range of cells but on the same sheet where there are indeed empty cells.

Does anyone else have this problem?

I can't reproduce it, but then you didn't give a lot of information.
What is the SUMIF() function you're using? Are you using the sum_range
parameter? What is the criterion?
