Track Change won't change color

When using Track Change, the changes are shown in grey. It use to show in
color before I unchecked the "Use High Contrast" in START > CONTROL PANEL >
Accessiblility Options, Display Tab. The reason I turn it off was that I
wasn't able to use the Font Color in Excel. So I found this article KB833258
that mention about turning if off. When I did I could I was then able to
change color in Excel. Is there a way to fix this so that the color work in
both Excel and Word. I try uninstalling and re-installing Office 2003, but
that didn't help.
