Track changes across two workbooks

S

Scott A

Does anyone know if changes in workbook A can show changes in workbook B if
workbook B references workbook A?

For example. Workbook A, cell A1 has Jim. Therefore, workbook B, cell A1
has Jim.

If workbook A, cell A1 is changed to James, is there a way to flag the
change in workbook B?

Reason for the question is our office gets a feeder file that we use and we
are trying to flag any changes on our workbook.

I appreciate any help.

Scott, in Excel 2007 you can track changes through the menu placed next to
data. Do not know the correct name as I do not have english excel, it's
probably called review, revision, auditing or so. Aproach tab called changes
and then choose tracking changes. Process is quite straightforward but it
disables macro in shared workbooks.
I do not know whether Excel 2003 contains similar features.

very often I misunderstand someone's question. I forgot you are talking about
two workbooks with links between them. I am sorry to say I do not know how to
track changes in one book where changes are in fact made in the other one.
