Track changes and compare documents

I have a document that has had track changes made several
times. I have the original document and want to add SOME
of the changes to the amended document. I have
tried 'compare document' but this changes everything. Is
there a way to compare the documents and select ONLY what
needs to be changed?

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Instead of Compare Document, I think you want to use the Review Changes
tool. This lets you go through and accept or reject each change. In my
program, it's under Tools | Track Changes > Accept or Reject Changes.
