track changes doesn't pop up balloon with info when cursor is move

O

OfficeMate 123

I use Office 2003 on a Windows 2000 machine. In the past, when I turn on the
"track changes" feature, any comments made to the document are in unique
colors. More importantly, when the cursor was positioned over the inserted
text, a balloon popped up which said something like "John Smith, date, time
inserted: blah, blah, blah". It stopped doing that. Comments by different
people are in different colors, but the popup doesn't come up anymore. I
resinstalled Office 2003 with no result.

Any help would be greatly appreciate. Thanks!

Check in Tools/AutoCorrect Options/AutoText whether "Show AutoComplete
suggestions" is active. If not, turn it on.

We're having the same problem with Word 2002 on Windows 2000. I checked the
settings in Tools/AutoCorrect Options/AutoText and they are as you specified.
Yet, the reviewer information pop-ups are not appearing above the comment
and track-changes balloons.

I just loaded a virtual machine with Office 2002, and I noticed you also need to
have quite a bit of patience until Word decides it will show you the comment
pop-up. As a matter of fact, I had to turn off the display of balloons, then
turn it back on to get it to work.
