Track Changes in Word 2000 - document not printing properly

To start with: We use Word 2000 SP-1 with either Windows 98 or 2000.
One of our departments uses track changes extensively in their
documents. Normally this works well, but for one particular document,
we are unable to print selected pages to a one particular printer.
What happens is that changes are made by multiple users and then the
user turns off the changes so that they are not sent to the printer.
In one section of the document the correct text prints, but the
tracked changes appear to printing on the same line. The result is a
garbled mess. This does not happen throughout the entire document (20
pages) and only happens on one printer, a local HP-Laserjet-1100. We
can successfully print to a networked printer. (Because of the
confidentially of the documents it is usually preferred to print them
locally.)

Any ideas on what is happening and a remedy? We can come up with
workarounds, like saving as an RTF so that we can print, but we want
to preserve the changes tracked in this document. We also want to
prevent this from happening again. My guess is that this is just a
corrupt section of the document and that it could have been corrupted
by any of the users in the process.

I appreciate any help.
