Track Changes in Word 2000

How to use the "Track Changes" feature discreetly? If two or more people are working/ editing something, "Track Changes" which highlights on the screen is a very useful feature. BUT when it comes time to e-mail the finished product - one can turn off the "Track Changes -Highlight" option and the e-mailed document just shows the final result. But the rub is that the recipient can, just by opening the document, going to "Track Changes" on his or her own computer and activating the "highlight -show changes on screen" feature, can see the earlier draft efforts

Do you know a way to permanently get rid of the earlier (edited-out) efforts on a document like this

Thanks
