Track Changes in Word 2002

I like the format of the old Track Changes functionality
in Word. I upgraded to Word 2002 and hate the new
format. Is there any way to get Word 2002 to use the old
Track Changes formatting?

Any help would be appreciated...

If you turn off balloons (Tools | Options | Track Changes), you'll get some
of the old functionality back.

What kind of formatting do you mean? There's a macro floating around
(below) that lets you change the settings to mark various changes.

____________

You will have to run a macro. The following provides a means of controlling
most of the options. Here it is set up to show the margin marks only.:

Sub TrackChanges()

With Application.Options
.RevisedLinesMark = wdRevisedLinesMarkOutsideBorder
.RevisedLinesColor = wdAuto
' .DeletedTextMark = wdDeletedTextMarkStrikeThrough
' .DeletedTextColor = wdRed
' .DeletedTextMark = wdDeletedTextMarkHidden
' .InsertedTextMark = wdInsertedTextMarkItalic
' .InsertedTextColor = wdBlue
' .InsertedTextMark = wdInsertedTextMarkColorOnly
' .InsertedTextColor = wdAuto
' .RevisedPropertiesMark = wdRevisedPropertiesMarkColorOnly
' .RevisedPropertiesColor = wdAuto
' .RevisedPropertiesMark = wdRevisedPropertiesMarkColorOnly
' .RevisedPropertiesColor = wdViolet

End With
End Sub

Remove the ' next to lines you want to activate. Put a ' next to the lines
you want to deactivate. You can change color choices as well.

You only need to run the macro once.
