Track Changes is off, but a formatting change is highighted...

Hi All,

I am editing a document in Word 2002 (10.5522.4219) SP-2. in
preparation for delivering some Word formatting training.
It had track changes enabled when I received it. I have turned off
Track Changes and Accepted All Comments.
However, when I then apply a Heading style, a change is tracked. I
cannot work out why, or how to turn it off.
Grrrrr!!

Any help most appreciated.

Hello Alastair;

I have had this happen to me, and I think it happens when text is copied
from one document to another, where Track Changes is on in the source
document and off in the recieving document. What I have seen is that only
some of the paragraphs have track changes on.

Try selecting all the text (Ctrl+A) and accepting all changes. That may
fix
it.

Good luck with your class.

I believe that Track Changes must be enabled BEFORE you can Accept all
Changes correctly. So toggle on Track Changes, Accept All Changes and then
toggle off Track Changes.

Seems to me it would make more sense the other way around (turn tracking
off, then accept all changes).
