Within Word 2003 SP3 we have lately been noticing a strange issue when
working with redlined documents which have been copied from other documents
created by the same author. With Track Changes turned on, a user will make a
change to a document. When hovering over the change, the author name says
"Author" although the User Information is set to "John Smith." Once the
document has been saved, the author name on that same change now states "John
Smith" as expected. Has anyone else experienced something similar? This
issue is making our busy attorneys very frustrated as their redline function
is not behaving as expected.
This is not machine or user specific. We are experiencing this issue with
several different users/documents.
Thanks!
