Hi
For the first time I used Track changes and loved it! i did not get do lost and things went much faster. However I tried everything I know how to try on the menu and even though I can get it to merge (get all the changes out and the red marking and changes in red etc.) when I send it via email--an attachment the person who downloads and opens it sees all my corrections and all the red.I have tried several things i was sure would correct the problem but to no avail. Anyone know what I need to do? Many thanks!

I'm not sure what "several things" you tried or how you "got changes
out...." but the two things that *do* need to be done are:

1- ALL changes must be Accepted or Rejected, not simply hidden, and
2- Track Changes must be turned Off in the document before you save.

Additionally it's always good practice to at least mention what version of
Word & OS X you're using, as that can make a significant difference in how
things should be handled.

Dear Bob
Thanks for your email. I am running Leopard and word 2004. Okay, so
once you accept the changes then how do you turn off Track changes
before you save? Many thanks! Neil

Either of 4 ways:

Tools> Track Changes to remove the check,
Key Command+Shift+E,
Click the Track Changes button at the right end of the Reviewing Toolbar to
pop it out, or
Click the TRK button on the Status Bar.

You may also benefit from the [exhaustive] notes compiled by Clive Huggan if
you're seriously pursuing the use of Word... Not only the Track Changes
feature but just about everything you need to know:
