Track changes problem

I have problems with this feature sometimes when I am editing someone
else's Word file. First, I enter my User Information but I'm not
listed as a reviewer under Show, Reviewers. Second, even though I have
Track Changes selected, as well as Insertions & Delections, Formatting
& Comments, only Comments appear when I select a New Comment. But even
then, my author's ID doesn't show in the Comments box.

I uninstalled MS Office (including the trial version) and reinstalled
it. No problems now.

Hi Bianca:

That condition can be produced by a preference setting.

If Word>Preferences>Security>Privacy: "Remove personal information from this
file on save." is turned ON, your name will be removed from the Reviewers
list and all tracked changes and comments.
