"Track changes" reviewers added to all open Word docs

In Word for the Mac 2004, if I have a document open that includes reviewers A
and B, when I open another Word doc that is unrelated, reviewers A and B from
the first doc are automatically added to the list of reviewers in the second
doc. When the documents belong to different clients, this can be extremely
unfortunate. Is there any way to prevent it, other than by using an earlier
version of Word for the Mac or by quitting the application between docs I
don't want infected and never having docs from unrelated sources open at the
same time? I cannot use the option of removing all reviewer info: the
specific reviewers must be accurately identified in each document.

Many thanks for any help you can give.

I seem to recall there was a similar bug in Word for the PC but I
think it was corrected in a SP. You may want to check with a newsgroup
for Mac Word to see if they have any information specific to Mac Word.

You may be able to remove the other reviewer names from the document
by using the MS Script Editor. I've used it to change reviewer names
so it may work for this situation too.

I should add that I don't see the names of "thousands of reviewers" including
unknown ones under Show: Reviewers; I see only ones I know.

I recall being able to duplicate this issue. What I don't recall is
the version of Word or the patch that corrected the problem so I doubt
it's a virus - especially if you are only seeing reviewer names you
know. I'm sure someone in the Mac group can either verify it is the
same bug as the one that occurred on the PC version and perhaps have
more information for you. I'm sorry but my knowledge lies in the PC
version and not the Mac version.
