Track changes

I need to copy a document created for one cleint to create
a new client document. The original document had the
changes tracked in it. If I do a 'save as' or select the
text in the old doc and then copy and paste to a new blank
doc, the new document contains all of the previous markup
from the origianl doc. I would like the new document to
contain just the final vesrion of the old document which I
can then tailor to the new client. After this is done I
will then turn on tracking again so that reviewers
amendments are recorded to the new clients doc. Can anyone
help please?
