Track changes

I have a problem. In our company we use Office 2000/2003 and Word X and
Mac 2004. When someone sends us an Offce 2003 Word file and we enable
track changes to track the changes as we edit. We save it then open it
in Word X and Mac 2004 and we turn on track changes we can't see
anything under Word X and Mac 2004.

Let me know if you guys know whats going on.

Thank you in advance.

Well, turning on track changes in Word X/2004 does not show track changes
that are already existing. It just starts tracking new edits.

When you receive a doc with tracked changes, bring up the reviewing toolbar.
Play around with the Show options on the toolbar. Check the settings in
Word>Preferences>Track Changes to make sure changes are set to show.
Balloons in the margins will only show in Word 2004 and only if balloons are
turned on in the preferences.

Chances are you have the option to "Remove personally identifiable
information from this file on save" set in Word 2003. If you have, it
removes the changes on Save.

It may be that when you open in Word 2004, you have Tools>Track
Changes>Accept or Reject Changes set to View/"Original". If you have, all
changes are hidden.

Hope this helps
