Track changes

I have tracked changes in one doc. By a mistake my friend made her
changes in the original version of the same document, instead of
continuing changing the one I had used.

Is there a way to merge changes from two versions of the same
document?

Thank you!!

Yes. Use the compare documents flavour of track changes to merge the
two sets of changes. Accept all changes in copies of each of your
forks. Then use those copies for the compare. You will have minor
difficulty where you both changed the same thing, but you will have to
sort that out whatever you do. If you want to see all your work as
tracked changes, compare the result with the original in the same way.
You will not of course be able to show who made what change.

Compare is a good way of turning out a stable document with changes
highlighted. I get really nervous about docs with long chains of
tracked changes. Accept and compare with original cleans up the mess at
the end of each cycle.
