Track monthly costs

Hi,

I have to rent an office on a month to month basis for a project. On the
first of every month, I will incur the same cost. In the last month, I will
incur the same cost whether the project ends on the 4th or the 30th of the
month. How do I track this in MSP?

MSP2003: Use a material resource "rent" and set it to accrue at the start of
the period. There is no difference for the last month. Set your monthly
rent in the "Cost/Use" field.

MSP2007: You could also use a material resource, but a cost resource type
might be more appropriate.

Thanks for the quick reply.

So do I have to create tasks that start on the 1st and end on the 31st of
every month? Something like a "Pay Rent" task? Then assign the rent
resource to each task?

Is there no way to just create a recurring cost that happens on the first of
every month?

"Set your monthly rent in the "Cost/Use" field."

Do I leave "Std. Rate" at 0?
