How do I set up a counter that keeps track of how many people have visited my
web page?

Are you aware that those counters are notoriously inaccurate? And a dead-on
sign of an amateur website developer. Even if you are one, you don't need a
neon sign telling everyone. ;-)

If your page has a small number of visitors make sure that you get an
invisible counter that only you have access to. That way you can
track the number of people that have come to your site without letting
everyone else see it.
