Hi Jörg,
This can happen if folks are using the setting in
Tools=>Options=>Security
[x] Remove Person information from file properties on save
either individually or if it's been enabled as a policy in the registry.
The 'personal information' includes the name of the person working on the file. If track changes is set to show colors by author
then the changes could all appear in a single color scheme as being all from 'author'.
===========
I have a similar problem with Word2003 on a Win XP SP3 computer.
We have made a document with the option "tracked changes" activated. some
people have made changes on the document. it has worked properly, but since
a few days, the informations about the authors are lost. I can still see the
changes, but all changes are made with the same colour and instead of e.g.
"Joerg Kirchhof" I just see "author" as creator of the individual changes.
This happens also with the backup-files, we have made and with older files,
we have never changed since some months. Nobody has accepted these changes
or deleted the author informations.
This happens on every PC in our company. I think, it must be a bug in one of
the automatic software updates or in the SP3, we have installed short
before.
Can someone help? We have to check this document, but without author
informations, it is not possible to make a final version of the document.
Thanks
Joerg Kirchhof >>
