I have a high spec laptop with office 2003 and in word using the track
changes function now there are alot of tracked changes but it seams that I am
at a point where if I try to do anything to the document that it starts to
freeze up the performance meter is saying the CPU is at 88% and the cursor
disappears and finally if I try to keep going word will freeze up completly
and not allow me to do anything.
is this a known issue or do I have to fix something here? I have deleated
winword.exe and let it re-install it and also deleated normal.dot.

Yes. You can get too complicated. You might want to try refreshing the
document by saving a copy and then in the copy accepting all changes. What
happens then?
