tracking changes in doc

I am editing a document and need my tracked changes to be
anonymous. I know how to change the user info to reflect
this, but a previous user didn't. Now when you place your
cursor over the highlighted changes it says who made the
changes and when. Is there any way short of re-typing to
change what the dialog box says when placing the cursor
over it?

Hi Craig

No, you can't change the information about a revision once Word has recorded that revision. Not even in VBA, because those
properties are read-only.

But ... depending on your version of Word, you can zap all personal information from your document, and that should include the
person's name. See http://support.microsoft.com/default.aspx?scid=kb;en-us;290945. In particular, see the sections on "How to
Automatically Remove Personal Information When You Save" and "How to Remove the Names of Previous Authors".

I would recommend making a backup copy before testing out the techniques described in that article.

Hope this helps.
