Tracking Changes

I hope this one is easy. I know how to track who makes changes when a user
adds/changes data entered via a form my question is how do I have access
track users after they've changed data in a subform?

Just as a note, I did try adding the fields to the subform and then linking
that data to the main form =Form.SubcontactDetails.UpdatedBy and this works
but the problem is it freezes the form so I can make any additional entries
or change to a new record.
