Tracking planning

Hi,

As per our project management process, the project plan must be approved
before the plan is published. How do you go about tracking the planning
activities that occur before the publication of the plan?

I have come up with two solutions so far:

1.Firstly, I publish the project plan containing only project management
tasks. Secondly, I publish all other tasks when the plan is approved.
2.I thought of creating a completely new project as a mean of tracking
planning activities for all our projects. This project would be structured
this way:
a. Level 1: Project1,Project2…
b. Level 2: Planning tasks.

Please let me know how you handle this.

Thanks.

I would add the project to the server (it will publish once) and then put
the tasks in the project and do your planning but do not publish again
until it is approved. If anyone looks at the project on Server they will
see a blank project until you publish it.

Thanks Brian,

are you aware of people keeping project management deliverables out of their
project plans? I've come to thinking that they are "contaminating" the earned
valued indicators.
