Tracking project/resource costs by different rates

In Project Pro/Server 2007, when I open an enterprise resource, I can
input an hourly rate for the resource, which is used to calculate
actuals. How do I incorporate a new field to capture "Billable rate"
which is more for obvious reasons? Once incorporated, I'd like to use
this field to calculate actuals in addition to the base rate Project
allows me to capture by default.

Tracking two cost rates for a single resource in a single project is not
possible out of the box without incrementing the overall project costs.

Your best bet at the moment is to create a report to show profit based on
Resource Billable Rate (rate table) as used in the schedule, less actual
resource cost rate which could be a custom field of the resource.

From reading past posts, SDM (www.sdm.com.au) are investigating developing
this function as an addin. I'm not sure how far down the line they are in
they development, but it would be worth asking the question.
