Tracking responses in Group Schedules/Public Folder

We have a calendar in Public Folders, and a Group Schedule associated with
it. When setting an appointment or meeting and inviting attendees via the
Group Schedule, we get an error message saying the "responses will not
tracked because the appointment is not in your main calendar".

Also, it won't set reminders for probably the same reason.

How to get round this problem - we need tracking and reminders
