tracking shows delivery only and not read report why?

Hi,
when I click tracking in the sent message only delivery recipt appears but
nor read receipt even though there is a delivery report received?

can any body help.
note. the read receipt request is already selected.

End users in Microsoft Outlook and Outlook Express can configure the
software not to return read receipts. With that said, are you trying to say
that you are getting read receipts and they are not being tallied on the
tracking tab of a sent item? If yes, then what type of mail account are you
working with and what version of Microsoft Outlook.

yes, I am getting read receipts and they are not being tallied on the
tracking tab of a sent item.
I am using MS Exchange 2007 and Outlook 2007.

The recipients you are requesting read receipts from are inside your
Exchange organization? (e.g. Do you see the same behavior if you send a
message to yourself requesting a read receipt. Don't forget that once you
get the read receipt back, you have to open the item to get it tallied.)

Take a peek at the link below. Does the icon on the read receipt look like
one of the two displayed on this page for something either being read or
deleted w/out being read? Just want to make sure that Outlook does see the
item as a message disposition notice (MDN) and not a regular message.

yes from inside my exchange organization.
yes is see the same behaviour if i send to my self.
i can understand that unless one person read the email the tracking will not
apear but the case here that the email is delivered and a delivery recipt
will be received by me (or the sender) and the email is read and a read
receipt will be received by me (or the sender) but when you open the sent
message and click on tracking button you will only see the deleivry report
and nothing about read.
yes the icons that i have is the same as icons No (18 for delivery and 21
for read) from top.

One last question, is the item that you requested a read/delivery receipt
still in your sent items folder? I've discovered that once you move the
item out of sent items, the tally stuff stops working.

yes it still in the sent item folder but the receipt itself (delivery/read)
are moved to an other folder usin a rule.
I tryed to keep the delivery ? read receipt in the same folder (inbox) but
this did not resolve the problem
