Tracking student registration using data access page

I have created an Access database that is used to track admitted students,
their courses, and financial obligations. I have a back end database saved
on a shared directory where the data, downloaded from the school database, is
loaded. Front end databases exist on each of the desktop of essential users.
I have added another subpage to track their registration. I want to make
the arrival time of each student available to several different people in
diff. locations. I created another database in the shared directory that
links to only the necessary tables, students and checkin. I created a DAP in
the same directory, based on this new table. Everything is located in this
shared directory. This works on the test that I've done. Will the data
update automatically as students are checked in on the front end of the
original database? Would I be wiser to use just a report? I wanted to give
the arrival information to some people who do not use the databases that I've
set up. Can they access the DAP by double clicking on the icon in the shared
directory without causing any problems? Any info would be greatly
appreciated.
