Tracking tab wacked! Info disappears after time in Outlook 2000 Exchange 2000

I'm using Outlook 2002 and Exchange 2000 sp3 with rollup3. I send an email to a group of internal recipients by distribution list (all on the same exchange 2000 box). I request a read receipt. I get read receipts returned as requested from most but not all, and once I've opened them I delete them. I then check the tracking tab for this message under sent items. The tracking tab show only a portion of the users that I received replies from, with the time they read it but even they disappeared after a week or two. Archiving is disabled by the way if you were thinking what I was thinking. After a time the only detail left on the tracking tab is the group distribution name only, no time stamp. Where did all the users go? There should be over a 100 of them!

On the other hand, If the email is sent to individuals, it seems that it keeps the names but loses the time stamp on the tracking tab which does us no good either. This is starting to drive me crazy. There does not seem to be any obvious pattern to this. Any idea why? Is there some setting on the server I should be looking for? All this makes the tracking feature practically useless.

Cheers,
