Tracking the beginning and the end of an event in Journal

Journal is keeping track of the files that work on in Word, Excel, etc.

When I open Journal I can see the time line from the beginning of an event
to it ends.

However, when I open an event to see the time, it seems that Journal does
not record the end of an event, only the beginning. I can not find any entry
for, e.g. when I closed an Excel-file.

Given that Journal renders a visual representation of the time-line, I
assume it does record the time a given event ends, e. g. when I closed the
said Excel-file, but where? And, how do I retrieve it?

Any advice is much appreciated.
