Tracking version changes

We currently have a database in which our Infopath data is stored. Right now,
each time a newer version of the form is created, the information in the
database from the older form is overwritten by the information in the newer
form. Ideally, we would like to create a new record for each version number
of each form, so that we may keep track of changes made to the form. We can't
seem to get Infopath to allow us to do this? Is there a way? (ie. prepopulate
a new record with an older record's information- other than the newly changed
section) If not, what is the best method of tracking version changes using
Infopath?

Hi,

If you are storing the form's data in SQL db, then for every submit,
you can insert a new record with new version number rather than
overwriting the existing records.

Do let me know, if you need any further info.

Thanks,

Right now, we are saving on a Sharepoint database, but we can't seem to get
Infopath to allow us to actually save the new version as a new record. That's
where we are having the problem. How would we be able to do that?
