Hi all,
In Tracking page in Oulook 2007 I can find the delivery receipts only and
can not find read receipts why is that?

Note, I am using Exchange 2007.

This is probably disabled as a corporate policy. Ask your manager or
corporate admin to verify this.

No some of the PC's are showing both read and delivery receipts information.

Different Group Policies can apply to different groups. The fact that other
PCs/people have the option is very well possible in that system.
Is the option also gone when pressing the Options... button while composing
a message?

Hi,
I am not sure what you mean, in our group policy (WIN 2003 server) there is
only one group and all the settings are applied for every one.

All the employees in the company request read and delivery receipts and all
of the send the recipts automatically.

When some of the employees click tracking button in the sent message located
in the sent folder some of them find Read and delivery receipt infomation but
the other find only delivery information.

It seems that the delivery receipt sent as an RTF format but the Read
receipts are sent as a plain text so do u have an idea how to convert it to
RTF ?

Are these settings set/meant as a policy or as an option by those individual
users? If they are meant to be set as a policy, then the PCs that have it as
an option are the ones with an issue. In those case you must re-enforce the
policy on those computers by running;
Start-> Run; gpupdate /force

The delivery receipts are sent by the mail server. Read receipts are sent by
the mail client. AFAIK Exchange will always send these messages in RTF
format (which are automatically converted to HTML format if needed) and
Outlook always as Plain Text. For what reason do you need to change this?

Dear,
There are no special settings in the group policy for any of the employess
other than windows update and a like, I am aware of enforcing the policy but
the problem is not in any setting in the group policy for any one.


I thought the reason of not seeing the read receipt is because it is not RTF
but I am not sure of that even I remember reading this in one of the blogs.

I think there is a setting some where in the client side or in the exchange
for some of the users but I cant find it even I checked the properties of the
user names in the AD. they are all the same.

I can see the read receipt and the delivery receipt in the inbox folder but
as I mentioned earliear when you click the track button only Delivery
information is displayed.

Aha, you mean you are looking at Tracking Information on the Sent Item for
which you had already requested the receipts and not the option itself when
composing. Clarity is key when posting; we cannot look over your shoulder to
see what screen you are looking at ;-)

If read receipts are received without the special tracking icon, then a
conversion has taken place to a normal message. This is quite normal for
messages from outside your organization. In that case, the tracking will
break as the receipt no longer holds processing information. If this
breaking occurs outside your organization, there is nothing you can do about
it.

Hi,
Please read my first post, I stated clearly that I am looking @ tracking page.
No one said any thing about outside my organization, even if I sent a
message to my self using Exchange 2007 and request from my self read and
delivery receipt and when i receive the message I read it and I can see that
both receipts are coming to me in the inbox folder then after that I go to
the sent message open it and press the track button I can only see the
information related for delivery but my collegue next to me if he did the
same he can see information for both read and delivery receipts.

Please read my first post, I stated clearly that I am looking @ tracking
Which still could mean lots of things depending on how you would define
"page" and at what time you are looking at it. The general option for it
could be something you call "page" or the per message Options... screen. In
your case it was the tracking tab on the sent item. That's why including
steps to reproduce are so important to post as then it is clear what you are
doing and what you are looking at.

here.

I got the rest of your message, which is why I asked how the icon of your
received read receipt looked like. Is this with the special tracking icon or
not?

Do you have any mail scanning software installed which can modify the
message header information? They could break it as well for you.
If you have access to OWA, you could try to use that and see how the
information is being received (with tracking icon or not). This way you
leave Outlook out of the equation which allows you determine where the
corruption is taking place.

the middle.

I Have HP LaserJet 3030 which is a MFP printer that has a scanner, do you
sugest to uninstall this printer to fix the problem?

If you have access to OWA, you could try to use that and see how the

I tried my OWA, the Sent message Icon is the normal Envelop Icon and not
Tracking Icon.

I resolved the issue.
you have to make the OST file is the default Data File not the PST file.
from Outlook | Tools | Account Settings | Data File tab (Select the OST file
then press default button)

Correct, receipts must be processed in the default Inbox folder.
