Transfer of Project Server 2003 to a new server

Hi,

I hope someone can help.

We are about to transfer our current Project Server to a new (faster) server
in the next few weeks. Most of this is is fairly straight forward but I
can't find any information on how to move the data. Has anyone done this,
please note that this is a single server install and not a multiserver
install. So far I have only found documentation (Microsoft and others) on
how to do this with Project server 2002.

Hi Gillian,

I recently carried out a single server migration. What questions about
it did you have sepcifically? Theres very little in the way of a
concise document on doing it. But essentially you have to build the new
server, install SQL, Project Server. Then you want to take a backup of
your current SQL database and restore it over the Project Server
database on your new server. From the database of the recently restored
database you delete the MSProjectUser and MSProjectServerUser accounts
and readd them with the ones created on the new instance of the SQL
database.

Now you can log into PWA and make amendments to the server to reflect
the new one. OLAP is a bit trickier but not to bad, create a new cube
on the new server and point all your views to the new cube. Steer clear
of migrating it.

If you use WSS functionality you might have to do a bit more digging
before plunging in at the deep end as I believe there is some further
considerations

Thanks for that. we seem quite happy about that it of it. what we are a bit
concerned about is the transfer of the webpages and forms which have been
created with WSS. Has anyone done this before or are we the first? Even if
there are any Project server books etc.. which might help us.
