Transfer Office XP License

A

Andrew

Hi,

I have an old PC which has Office XP installed on it. I have recently
brought a new PC and wish to transfer to license from the old machine to the
new.

The problem is that I do not have any installation discs for Office XP, so
how can I go about installing it on the new computer?

Also, another question I have... does Office XP work in Vista? or would I
need to upgrade to Office 2003 or 2007?

You cannot transfer (i.e. install) Office XP without the original Office XP
installation disc. In your case, I suggest purchasing a "full version"
of one of the new Microsoft Office 2007 programs.

I thought as much...
Will have to keep hunting for that disc.

If you have the product key, you can use *any* comparable CD as long as
it's the same version, i.e. Pro or Student, etc.

That said, if you don't use Outlook, check out Open Office. It's free.

P.S. Ignore Carey. He always give the most expensive "advice" like the
good little Microsoft shill that he is.

If you do have the Office XP product key and have a friend that has
the CD with the exact same edition, you can use their CD and your
product key.
