Transfer Ownership

Does anyone know how to transfer ownership of an Office Suite? I have
uninstalled the product from my computer (actually, I installed the next
version (not an upgrade)) and I would like to give my old version to a
friend. Is there a way to contact Microsoft to deactiviate the information
in my name and transfer it to the new person? This is Office XP/2002, the
first version wherein Microsoft patroled the number of installations.

I'd like this to be legal.

Thanks.

As long as the version is retail, not OEM, your friend just installs
it and activates it. If the internet activation fails, they need to
call MS and tell them that it's transferred and all is well.
