Can anyone please tell me how I can transfer phone numbers from Microdoft
outlook on my PC to my mobile phone? I have a Bluetooth connection.

Thanks

This question should be addressed to the vendor providing synchronization
between your mobile phone and Outlook. It is not an Outlook question.

What kind of phone? If you have a phone running Microsoft Smartphone or
Pocket PC Phone Edition, then you can use ActiveSync to transfer all your
phone numbers (as well as other contact info) from Outlook to your phone. It
works with Bluetooth.

Here's the link to Activesync.

May I ask a question? I use this program to sync Outlook to my Smart phone.
I have always done this thru a connection.
Have you been able to sync the phones via BlueTooth? I have not figured out
a way to do this. Both the Laptop and Phone have BlueTooth.
Some articles I read suggest this is not possible, and some articles seem to
suggest it is possible. Hmmm. Thanks for any insight.

Yes, it works. You can sync Outlook to your Smartphone using ActiveSync. I
have an Audiovox SMT5600 and this is the way I normally sync, by using
Bluetooth.

To set up BT Activesync, do this:
- first, set BT on your computer to "Discoverable"
- then, on the phone: Activesync | (Menu) Setup BT Activesync, and follow
instructions from there.
You have to do it in this order. If you try to have the computer discover
the phone, it won't work. And don't forget to re-set your computer's BT back
to "On", when you're done - you don't want to leave it on "Discoverable".

Thank you very much for letting me know that this can be done. I'm not
having any luck so far, but I'm still trying.
My Moto MPx 220's Bluetooth only has On/Off/Discoverable, and therefore does
not have the option you mention...

"...then, on the phone: Activesync | (Menu) Setup BT ...." etc

My notebook and phone see each other, but I'm not sure how to set up the
"Services" (If that's the correct term). I've seen "Audio Gateway" and
"Dial-up", but nothing that would suggest syncing the phone.
I am also looking at what's called "Bluetooth Serial Port." I'm not sure
what a Serial Port has to do with Bluetooth at this point.
Anyway, thanks for letting me know it "should" work. I'll keep plugging
along. :>)

Dana,

You're looking in the wrong place on the phone. It's under menu item
"(6)ActiveSync", not under "Bluetooth".

Thank you very much!! I don't know how I missed that all this time.
On the Mpx 220 phone, I have Start | (5) Active Sync.
There is a Menu option with (3) Connect via Bluetooth...

It's still not "connecting", but I feel I'm getting close.
The problem may be the phone. On the Laptop, in the Bluetooth Neighborhood
folder of Windows Xp, I select "Discover Services". The only ones I have
are "Dial-up Networking", and "Voice Gateway."
I'm now thinking that the phone doesn't have the "service" to do this via
Bluetooth. (works fine via cable though). Anyway, thank you very much for
your time. :>)

You're almost home now. Before you can "Connect via Bluetooth", you first
have to "Setup BT ActiveSync", also under the "ActiveSync" menu (it could be
either menu item 3 or 4; strangely enough "Connect" and "Setup" switch
positions).
