Transfer .pst personal files to reloaded version of Outlook

I had to replace my hard drive and backed up my Outlook personal folders. How
do I go about reloading these .pst files back into the Outlook folders?

Import the .PST file back into outlook.

Steps how to do this:-

From within Outlook:

File Menu -> Import and Export..

This brings up the import export wizard.

Select option 'Import from another program or file' ->Next

Personal Folder List (.pst) -> Next

Browse to your backed-up PST file

Tick 'Allow duplicates to be created' -> Next

Select the folder to Import From.

Tick Include Sub Folders

Import items into the same Folder in:

Click 'Finish' to start the import

Simply open the data file in OL
ie File>Open>Data File........browse to location

PS overwritting an existing data file can also corrupt it, and / or the
profile
