Transfer to New Computer

My old computer died - bad hard drive. I purchased a new computer and want
to move my Office 2003 to the new computer. The problem is that the disk I
have is an upgrade disc. I have upgraded Office every year for the past 5
years, so am working from upgrade disks. It will not let me load the OFFICE
software into the new computer because it does not recognize the new computer
as being an upgradeable situation because there is no Office software
currently in the computer. Help. I don't want to purchase brand new
software after paying for it originally and then paying for upgrades each
year. How can I get the most recent upgrade disk to load into the new
computer?

Do you have any other software like Publisher, Photo Draw
etc.

I was in the same position two weeks ago and realised I
had MS Publisher and Office loaded.

If you have a upgrade CD for Office 97 or later you can use that CD. You do
not need to install the old version, just point to it when asked for a
qualifying product.

If you did not retain the old Office CD {which are part of your Office
license} and your Office XP upgrade was a retail product, then:

If you upgraded, you should still have the previous version's disk(s) -
that's part of the upgrade license.

When doing the install of the upgrade version, when it can't find a previous
version on the system, it should prompt you to put the earlier version disk
in the drive to be examined. From there, proceed as normal.
